Not really. But a cursory glance at the plumbing fixtures will surely make you wonder. Yes, the old Flagship Hotel has seen better days, that’s a definite.
So why is it that some ambitious entrepreneur with a little extra scratch in his pocket hasn’t snatched up this old diamond in the rough and given her a major makeover?
As far as I know, it’s the only hotel situated right over the Gulf, on its very own private fishing pier, with unobstructed saltwater views in opposite directions, for the most incredible sunrise and sunset panoramas.
It’s a puzzler for sure, but for now, anyway, this mildewed old gal is just downright shopworn and awful. And while you won’t require a full round of antibiotics upon checkout, an anti-fungicide might be in order. (This unfortunate situation actually happened to me once, after staying at a particularly fleabaggish motel on the Washington coast. Gad!)
