Go Fish Galvez

Considering the litigious state of our ever ethically diminishing society these days, I’d like to clarify one point before we move any further, for those of you who have been with Go Fish from the beginning.

See that real pretty picture on the left? Perhaps you remember it. It’s the very first top banner for the Go Fish Galvez blog.

Now, do you see in this pretty banner that gorgeous, clear turquoise water? Well, of course, as we all can recognize instantly, that water is nowhere near Galveston, Texas. Galveston water is a muddier hue, perhaps due to the shallow coastal shelf (or I could be making that up). And while we’re at it, there’s also no palm tree, much less two, within spittin’ distance of the 61st Street fishing pier. Just to be clear.

Nope, that wholly fraudulent banner picture is an image apparently taken somewhere in the Florida Keys and cleverly “Photoshopped” by your humble blog author (with wild, illegal abandon) by superimposing (did I make up that word?) a photo I myself snapped (to dodge the lawyers) of the old 61st Street public fishing pier in Galveston. (For you handful of would-be litigators and other entitlement-seeking snot-nosed brats out there, that’s my disclaimer so save your subpoenas.)

Notwithstanding the foregoing (gosh, I sound like a lawyer, don’t I?), I’d be happy to give credit where credit is due except that I’ve changed the Go Fish design entirely since those early days and thus this whole discussion is entirely moot.

So what, then, was this blog post about, exactly? Nothing. It’s a post about nothing. Thanks for the inspiration, Jerry.
