And well you might be wondering. What the heck happened to the subject of Galveston on a blog ostensibly dedicated to its very essence? Well, it’s a fair question, and one I’ve recently had to ask myself.
The short answer? I haven’t a clue. Or really I do.
For starters, let me whine. I began this blog long before I actually arrived in Galveston, more than a year, in fact, before I was finally able to move here. In the beginning, then, my access to local happenings and haunts was very limited, at best.
During that initial “holding” period, with me unable to have any direct interaction with the instant topic, the blog just sort of naturally devolved into a simple journal or diary, with the occasional reference to Galveston thrown in just to keep the theme alive and me minimally honest. And unfortunately, once I did ultimately arrive in town, there was already so much inertia behind my de facto cyberdiary that I was unable to properly shift gears and refocus on the intended subject.
But enough with the excuses. That’s all about to change.
Not right away, alas. No, for the next little bit, look for me to continue droning on about all manner of irrelevant topics, although I nevertheless aim to keep you moderately interested and, dare I hope, somewhat entertained.
Just know that in the weeks and months to come, I will be quietly toiling away behind the scenes, transforming dear old Go Fish Galvez into a full-fledged, interactive, multi-purpose Web extravaganza, nothing less! And although the blog will likely continue as a component, it won’t be the main focus of the site. But then hey, no great loss there, right?
So get ready. Are ya with me? Hope so, and hope you’ll stay tuned!
